Program Overview

The St. Clair College Credit Program at ASCIS provides senior-level students with the opportunity to earn both secondary school and college credits simultaneously. Beginning in the 2026-2027 school year, in partnership with St. Clair College, our ASCIS students who participate in this program will engage in hands-on, experiential learning in specialized fields such as Industrial Robotics and Construction Applications.

Courses are delivered by industry professionals using state-of-the-art equipment at the college campus, allowing students to apply their learning in real-world environments while developing practical and career-ready skills.

ASCIS students will be assigned a dedicated section at St. Clair College only with other international high school students. (Therefore, the ASCIS students will not be in classes with college students or students from local public schools.) Courses are offered in both the Fall and Winter terms, with limited enrollment.

Credit Information

Students enrolled in the St. Clair College Credit Program will earn:

- Ontario secondary school credits toward their OSSD (2 credits: TCA4T, TIC4T)
- Corresponding college credits through St. Clair College (2 credits: ARC211DC, ERT208)

These credits will contribute to both high school graduation requirements and will provide students with a head start on post-secondary education. Students will have met the expectations of post-secondary course work in these subjects.

Cost and Supplies

The program fee is $1400 + HST ($1,582) and includes:

- Personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Course materials and supplies
- Access to specialized equipment and facilities at St. Clair College
- Instruction from industry-certified professionals
- Two full OSSD credits and College-level course credits

Students should not be required to purchase additional textbooks/equipment beyond standard school supplies.

Eligible Students

Program preference will be given to students in Grades 11 and 12. However, students in Grade 10 with excellent academic standing could also be considered.

N.B. This program is subject to the minimum enrollment requirement of 10 students.

Low Enrollment Option (Fewer than 10 Students)

In the event that program enrollment is below the minimum required number of 10 students, ASCIS will consider offering a modified delivery model in partnership with St. Clair College.

Under this option, the ASCIS students will complete both St. Clair College Credit courses during Semester 1. During this time, ASCIS students will attend St. Clair College four days per week, with classes running from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.

In Semester 2, the ASCIS students will not have to attend St. Clair College. These students will continue their full ASCIS timetable, finishing their school day at ASCIS at 1:22 p.m. daily.

This model will ensure students are still able to earn both secondary school and college credits within a single semester structure, while maintaining access to the ASCIS academic program.

Daily and Weekly Schedule

School begins at 8:30 a.m.

Six ASCIS subjects during periods 1-4 in our 3-day cycle:

- ASCIS school day ends at 1:22 p.m.

School day end times vary:

Transportation

Parents are responsible to ensure that their child will have a reliable transportation plan in place for all college attendance days. Therefore, families must arrange transportation to and from St. Clair College on designated college attendance days. The campus is located approximately a 15-minute walk from ASCIS, making walking a convenient option for many students.

Transportation options include:

Walking: Supervised departure from ASCIS. Students are expected to arrive on time for their scheduled college classes.

City Bus: A direct bus route is available from the ASCIS campus to St. Clair College. Students choosing this option are responsible for purchasing and maintaining their own bus pass.

Driving: Students who wish to drive themselves must hold a valid driver’s license and purchase a parking permit through St. Clair College.

Parent Drop-Off/Pick-Up: Parents may choose to transport their child directly to and from the college campus on attendance days.

Boarding school students must make proper arrangements in advance with the school as all drivers must be authorized. At all times students must follow all ASCIS’ boarding policies for transportation and off-campus travel.
